The 2019 Nissan 370Z is part of the Z34 generation, built from 2009 to 2020. The 2019 model uses the 3.7L VQ37VHR V6. The intervals below are Nissan's published schedule for the 2019 model year; if your 370Z is from another year, confirm them against your own owner's manual. One engine, one set of numbers.

A few of Nissan's rules for this car are easy to miss because they don't match what most shops assume. Tires can't be rotated. Automatic transmission fluid has no service interval at all. And gear oil on manual cars only gets changed, rather than just inspected, under a specific severe-duty condition. This guide covers every official interval for the 2019 370Z, system by system, using only the figures in Nissan's maintenance booklet. For the rest of the Nissan lineup, see the Nissan maintenance schedule hub.

Working through each system below in order — oil, drivetrain, brakes and cooling, then filters and the small stuff — gives you the full picture of what the 2019 370Z actually needs, and on what clock. Every figure below comes straight from Nissan's own maintenance booklet, with the engine and, where it applies, the exact condition attached, so you know precisely which rule applies to your car.

Engine oil and filter

Nissan specifies 5,000 miles or 6 months for engine oil and filter replacement, whichever comes first. This is the interval listed in the emission control maintenance table, where the oil and filter are replaced at every 5,000-mile / 6-month column.

The 6-month side of that interval matters even for low-mileage cars: if you're not putting 5,000 miles on the car in six months, you still change the oil on the calendar mark. Treat both halves of the interval as hard limits, not an either/or you get to pick based on convenience. Whichever one you hit first is the one that applies.

This is a single, flat interval for the 2019 370Z. If you want to track oil changes against this interval precisely, logging the date and mileage at each change is the only way to know which limit you'll hit first next time.

Transmission and drivetrain

Automatic transmission fluid

If your 2019 370Z has the automatic transmission, Nissan's guidance is direct: periodic maintenance is not required. There is no mileage or month interval for automatic transmission fluid on this car. That's not a gap in the schedule — it's the actual spec. Nothing else in the automatic transmission line of the maintenance booklet applies here.

Manual transmission and differential gear oil

On manual-transmission cars, Nissan calls for an inspection of the transmission and differential gear oil every 10,000 miles or 12 months. That's a check, not a replacement — the gear oil is inspected on this schedule, not drained and refilled.

There's a severe-duty exception: if you use a car-top carrier, or drive on rough or muddy roads, Nissan calls for an actual change of the gear oil every 20,000 miles or 24 months, rather than just an inspection. Outside of that condition, the standard schedule stays at inspection-only every 10,000 miles or 12 months. Whether your driving falls into the severe-duty category determines which of these two paths your 370Z is actually on — inspection-only, or scheduled changes.

Drive belts

Nissan's drive belt interval has two stages. There's no fixed interval until 40,000 miles or 48 months; after that point, the belts get inspected every 10,000 miles or 12 months. Replace a belt if it's damaged. Nissan doesn't give a mileage figure for replacement itself — inspection findings decide it.

Timing chain

The VQ37VHR uses a timing chain, and Nissan's spec table lists it with no scheduled maintenance. The spec table lists camshaft operation as "Timing chain," so there is no replacement mileage, month figure or inspection interval to track here.

Brakes, cooling and spark plugs

Brake fluid

Brake fluid gets replaced every 20,000 miles or 24 months under Nissan's standard schedule. This is a straight replacement interval, not an inspection — the fluid comes out and gets replaced on this clock regardless of how it looks or how the brakes feel. It is a separate item from the pad and rotor inspection, which runs on its own 10,000-mile / 12-month clock.

Brake pads and rotors

Nissan calls for an inspection of pads and rotors every 10,000 miles or 12 months. Nissan gives no fixed replacement interval for pads or rotors. That means the 10,000-mile mark isn't when you automatically replace pads; it's when you check remaining pad thickness and rotor condition and decide from there.

Coolant

Coolant follows a two-stage interval. The first replacement is at 105,000 miles or 84 months. After that, it's every 75,000 miles or 60 months. Nissan specifies Nissan Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant (blue) for this car.

The two-stage structure is worth noting on its own: the first change is due later than every subsequent one. Until you reach whichever of 105,000 miles or 84 months arrives first, the factory fill stays in the system. After that first change, the clock resets to the shorter 75,000-mile / 60-month cycle going forward, and it stays on that shorter cycle for every change after the first.

Spark plugs

Spark plugs are replaced every 105,000 miles, or sooner if the plug gap exceeds 0.055 in (1.4 mm). That gap figure is the trigger for an early change — if you're checking plugs before the mileage mark, that's the number to measure against. Unlike most of the other intervals on this car, spark plug replacement has no month-based side; it's mileage only, backstopped by the gap measurement.

Filters and the easy-to-miss items

Engine air filter

Replace the engine air filter at 30,000 miles or 36 months, and every 30,000 miles after that. Nissan notes it should be replaced more often in dusty conditions, though it doesn't give a shortened interval for that case — so if you drive somewhere consistently dusty, that's a judgment call on top of the base interval, not a documented shorter number.

Cabin air filter

The in-cabin microfilter is replaced at 15,000 miles or 18 months, and every 15,000 miles after that. This one is on a shorter cycle than the engine air filter — half its interval, at 15,000 miles or 18 months against 30,000 miles or 36 months.

Tire rotation

This is the item that is easiest to get wrong: tires cannot be rotated on the 370Z. Nissan's reasoning is that the front tires are a different size from the rears, and the rotation direction of each tire is fixed. There's no workaround interval here — it's simply not applicable to this car. If a shop offers to rotate your 370Z's tires as part of a service package, that's not something Nissan's own schedule calls for.

Intelligent Key battery

The Intelligent Key battery is replaced every 15,000 miles or 18 months. It's easy to let this slide because it isn't part of a typical fluid or filter service. It sits on the same 15,000-mile cadence as the cabin air filter, so if you're tracking one, it's worth checking the other at the same time.

Drive belts and timing chain, together

The drive belts and the timing chain are both covered above under drivetrain, but they belong on the easy-to-miss list too: the belts have no fixed interval until 40,000 miles or 48 months, and the timing chain has no scheduled maintenance at all. Owners coming from cars with belt-replacement intervals sometimes assume the 370Z has one too — it doesn't, for either component, until the belt inspection window opens.

Common questions about the Nissan 370Z

Can you rotate the tires on a Nissan 370Z?

No. Nissan says the front and rear tires are different sizes and each tire's rotation direction is fixed, so tire rotation isn't applicable to the 370Z.

Does the 370Z's automatic transmission fluid need to be changed?

Nissan's guidance is that periodic maintenance is not required for the automatic transmission fluid on the 370Z. There's no service interval for it.

When does the 370Z need its first coolant change?

The first coolant replacement is at 105,000 miles or 84 months. After that, Nissan calls for a change every 75,000 miles or 60 months.
