We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

Your data is stored on secure servers located in the European Union. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest.
While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
We will retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. If nobody uses an account for 12 months and it holds no vehicles or records, we delete it. An account with vehicles or records is deleted after 24 months without use. Signing in or using the app on any device counts as use. Before we delete an inactive account, we email its address 30 days and again 7 days before the deletion, and using the account at any time before then cancels it. If the address cannot receive email, the account is deleted on the same schedule. We never delete an account that has an active paid subscription, or a cancelled one that has not yet run out.

This section explains which tools load on getgaragehub.com and app.getgaragehub.com, and how your cookie choice changes them. getgaragehub.com loads no advertising tools. app.getgaragehub.com loads one, the Google Ads tag, and only after you click Accept.
On getgaragehub.com and app.getgaragehub.com, until you choose, PostHog (analytics) counts your visit anonymously and without cookies. No analytics identifier is stored on your device, you are not identified, and no profile is built. PostHog makes a daily code from your IP address and browser details (the user agent). The code cannot be reversed, and the key used to make it is deleted every day, so you cannot be recognized from one day to the next. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in measuring how many people use the site overall.
On getgaragehub.com, this anonymous count also records which of our buttons or links you click, such as Start free, and the page you clicked it on, so we can see which pages lead people to sign up. Nothing is stored on your device, it uses the same daily code described above, and it does not record anything you type.
If you click Accept, PostHog also uses cookies, so it can recognize your browser from one visit to the next.
If you click Accept, app.getgaragehub.com also loads the Google Ads tag, so we can measure which of our Google ads lead to a sign-up or a paid subscription. When you arrive from one of our ads, its link carries a click identifier (gclid, gbraid or wbraid). getgaragehub.com loads no Google tag; it passes the identifier on in the address of the app's sign-up page when you click a sign-up link. The Google Ads tag reads it there and Google stores it in cookies whose names start with _gcl_ (such as _gcl_au and _gcl_aw). When you create an account, the tag sends Google a sign-up conversion event, and when you buy a subscription, a purchase conversion event with its price, currency and an order reference, which is a one-way hashed code, not your account details. The tag sends no page views and no ad personalisation signals, and it uses no enhanced conversions, so we send Google no email address, phone number or name. Google receives this data as an independent controller under its Google Ads data protection terms and uses it as described in its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). The tag does not load while you are signed in with the Share Usage Data setting turned off.
We use the Google Ads tag only with your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by clicking Decline in Cookie settings, at the bottom of every page on this website or in the Privacy section of the app's settings. The tag then no longer loads, no further events are sent, and we delete the _gcl_ cookies from your browser. Withdrawing does not affect what was sent before.
If you click Decline, PostHog uses no cookies and keeps counting your visit anonymously, as described above, and the Google Ads tag does not load. If advertising cookies from an earlier visit are still on your device, we delete them.
One choice covers both getgaragehub.com and app.getgaragehub.com. We save it for 180 days in a cookie named gh_consent. You can change it at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of every page on this website.
When you use the GarageHub mobile apps while signed in, or app.getgaragehub.com while signed in after clicking Accept, we record product usage linked to your account (which screens and features you use) to run and improve the service. This is separate from the website statistics above. You can turn it off at any time with the Share Usage Data setting in the Privacy section of the app's settings. Turning it off stops all analytics there, whatever you chose on the cookie banner. It does not apply on getgaragehub.com.
You can object to the anonymous count at any time by opting out below. We then save a cookie named gh_stats_optout for 180 days, and no analytics load in this browser on getgaragehub.com or app.getgaragehub.com. Clicking Accept later turns analytics back on.

Our service is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16.

GarageHub publishes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at https://mcp.getgaragehub.com. When you authorize an external AI client (for example, Claude Desktop's Custom Connector feature), that client can read and — with your per-action approval — modify data in your garage within the scopes you granted (read or read + write).
Data flowing to the connected client is the same data you already see in the GarageHub app: your vehicles, maintenance logs, issues, parts, schedule, saved research, and profile. We never share other users' data, and the connection is scoped to your account via an OAuth 2.1 access token.
Once data leaves our server through the MCP endpoint, its handling is governed by the connected AI client's own privacy policy. We cannot guarantee how Anthropic, OpenAI, or any other third-party MCP client stores or uses the data it receives.
You can review every active connection and revoke any of them at any time from Settings → Access & connections → Connected apps in the web app. Revocation takes effect immediately.
