How history import works: CSV, receipts or Rev

Simply Auto is a mature maintenance tracker that does the basics well. It logs services, tracks fuel economy, and sends reminders when maintenance is due. The app has been around for years and has a loyal user base.

It's a good fit for daily drivers who want to stay on top of oil changes, tire rotations, and other scheduled services. The reminder system is one of its strongest features — you can set mileage-based and time-based alerts for each vehicle.

Simply Auto also supports OBD-II Bluetooth adapters for reading diagnostic codes, which is useful for checking engine lights. If you want a straightforward "remind me when service is due" app, Simply Auto covers that well.

GarageHub is for people who do their own work. It tells you when the next oil change is due. It also helps you work out what's wrong and what to fix next, with an AI mechanic that knows your car.

Answers that start from your car's history

Simply Auto has no AI features. Rev, GarageHub's AI mechanic, reads your cars, logs, parts and open issues, so its answers fit your car. Ask "what could cause my idle to surge after a cold start?" and Rev checks your car's specs and recent service before it answers.

Send a photo, get an answer

Notice a stain on the garage floor or odd wear on a belt? Snap a photo and send it to Rev. It looks at the photo alongside your car's history and tells you what it sees. Simply Auto can read OBD codes but can't look at your car.

Know which parts you already have

GarageHub tracks every part in your garage: what's on which car, what's on the shelf and what you still need to order. When you log a job, the parts you used come off the shelf. Simply Auto tracks expenses but not individual parts.

Plan the build and know what to fix first
