What's New

Updates to GarageHub across iOS, Android, and Web.

v2.29.0

  • Messages about your car in your first month

GarageHub now sends a few short messages in your first month, each sent once: a heads-up before the job you named when you signed up, Rev's first answer by email if you haven't seen it and don't get notifications, a reminder to add your car if you haven't yet, what's due and your open jobs after two quiet weeks, and what Premium adds when you use up the month's free messages with Rev, with a one-click unsubscribe on every email.

  • Review and delete what Rev remembers

Settings now lists the facts Rev keeps between conversations on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android, and you can delete any that are wrong or no longer true.

  • Refreshed garage, vehicle and build screens

Your garage, each vehicle's page, Up Next and the build plan have a refreshed, more consistent design on every platform, with easier-to-tap controls and better contrast in light and dark mode.

  • A cleaner Rev chat

Rev's chat has a refreshed look on iPhone, Mac and the web, with clearer focus outlines and larger tap targets for suggested replies.

  • A new look for shared build pages

The page people see when you share your build now reads like a feature story: a photo cover, your own words, a spec plate, the parts list, the gallery and the logbook.

  • Shared build links get a matching preview

When you post your build link, the preview card now shows your photo, the build name and its progress, odometer and spend, in your language.

  • A new look for shared service history

The service history you send a buyer now has a photo cover, a spec sheet, the years you serviced the car and a log you can filter by system.

  • A new look for inspection and shop reports

Inspection reports, service reports and shop profile pages that shops share with customers now match the new shared build and history pages, with clearer status labels on every inspection point.

  • Add photos while creating a repair entry

You can attach photos when you log a repair, instead of saving first and adding them on edit.

  • Rev starts by logging your car's recent work

When you add a car with no service history yet, Rev's first conversation offers to log the last few things done to it, from a list or an invoice, then tells you what to check first.

  • Rev gives one spec value and its source

Ask Rev for a torque, a fluid capacity or another spec and it gives one value and says where it comes from, or tells you it has no sourced figure instead of guessing.

  • Rev is more careful with safety-critical jobs

On safety-critical work such as brakes or fuel, Rev gives the precautions before the steps, and for a job best left to a professional it says so and still helps you get ready for it.

  • Rev says clearly that it is an AI

Every chat now shows that Rev is an AI and can make mistakes, so you know to double-check safety-critical values.

  • Rev names whose maintenance schedule it is

For a car outside the US, Rev now says when a suggested interval comes from the US schedule instead of calling it the manufacturer's schedule for your car, in chat and in your garage briefing.

  • Rev is honest about photos, links and records

If a photo doesn't reach Rev, it says so and asks again; it no longer offers links it can't stand behind, and it tells you plainly when your car has no record of something.

  • Rev suggests extra fixes without a card

When Rev spots something else worth fixing, it mentions it in one sentence and adds it to your list only when you ask.

  • Rev reminds you when a save is unconfirmed

If you reply without tapping Confirm, Rev shows the card once more so the record is not quietly left unsaved, and a plain no cancels it.

  • Links to Rev fill in your question

A link from an email or a notification that suggests a question for Rev now puts it in the message box for your car, so you can edit it or send it yourself; nothing is sent until you tap send.

  • Factory schedules for more cars

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Corvette and Camaro, the Mazda MX-5, CX-5, Mazda3 and Mazda6, and the Audi A4 and A3 now get maintenance schedules from their makers' own manuals.

  • Factory schedules for Vauxhall cars

The Vauxhall Corsa (2015–2019) and Astra (2016–2021) now get maintenance schedules in miles from Vauxhall UK manuals and UK service plans, and an Opel or Vauxhall entered as "Corsa F" or "Astra Sports Tourer" now finds its schedule.

  • Maintenance schedules for the 2022–2024 Renault Captur

The Renault Captur from 2022 to 2024, including the mild hybrid and E-Tech hybrid, now gets a maintenance schedule based on its European service plan, and the Clio LPG (2023–2024) adds its LPG filter change every 30,000 km.

  • Maintenance schedules for the 2024–2026 Dacia Duster and the 2026 Sandero

The Dacia Duster from 2024 to 2026 and the 2026 Sandero now get a maintenance schedule from Dacia's published intervals: oil change every 30,000 km or 12 months, brake check and brake fluid. The 2021–2025 Sandero also gains the brake check every 20,000 km or 2 years, and the 2015–2019 Sandero with the 1.2 16V or the 0.9 TCe 90 LPG gains a cabin filter change every 20,000 km or 12 months.

  • Maintenance schedules for newer Peugeot and Citroën models

The 2024–2026 Peugeot 208 and 3008, the 2022–2026 Peugeot 308, the 2025–2026 Citroën C3 and the 2024–2026 Citroën C4 now get the oil change interval Peugeot and Citroën publish for each engine, and the services they don't publish, such as spark plugs, filters and brake fluid, are still scheduled from our own estimate.

  • Schedule corrections reach every owner

When we correct a car's maintenance schedule, the fix now reaches every owner of that car, including model years that just got a schedule of their own.

  • Schedules follow the engine power you enter

On the Renault Mégane, Peugeot 208 and Citroën C4, an engine entered with its power, such as "1.5 dCi 110" or "PureTech 82", now gets that engine's own maintenance items, like the 2018 Mégane diesel's timing belt.

  • Turbo D diesels get diesel service items

An Opel or Vauxhall diesel entered with its "Turbo D" badge, such as an Insignia "2.0 Turbo D", now gets its diesel timing belt instead of the petrol engine's spark plugs.

  • Fuller schedules for some Opel Astra and Insignia cars

A newly added Opel Astra (2016–2018, 2020–2021) or Insignia (2020–2021) whose engine has no factory schedule in GarageHub yet, or whose engine isn't given, now gets a complete suggested schedule instead of only an oil change and brake fluid.

  • LPG Corsas get their own spark plug interval

An Opel or Vauxhall Corsa (2015–2019) entered as the 1.4 LPG now gets spark plugs every 30,000 km or 20,000 miles and two years, as the service plan sets for LPG models, instead of the petrol engine's interval.

  • Specs from the VIN for Jeep, Ram and Dodge

A Jeep, Ram or Dodge added with its VIN now gets its engine, transmission and drivetrain filled in from the VIN, like other makes.

  • Shared build pages speak the visitor's language

Dates, mileages and times on a shared build page now follow the visitor's language, not the owner's.

  • Shared build pages open in your language

Shared build pages and other public pages now load straight in your language instead of showing English for a moment first.

  • Car details keep what you type

Trim, engine and the other car details, and a work order's make and model, are no longer autocorrected.

  • Long replies and large text fit

Long quick replies to Rev wrap instead of running off the screen, and with larger text the recall cards, the Ask Rev button and Up Next labels wrap instead of being cut off.

  • Settings rows show one arrow

Family sharing, Shops and Forwarding no longer show a doubled arrow.

  • Mileage choices fit on small screens

In setup, the yearly mileage choices move to the next line instead of splitting the number.

  • Upgrade screens say exactly what Premium adds

The upgrade screens no longer promise PDF exports or more family seats than you get: family sharing is you plus up to 4 people, and JSON backup export stays free on every plan.

  • Add-a-car links open the form

A link from an email that asks you to add your car now opens the add-car form in the app, instead of leaving you on the garage screen.

  • A refused chat message keeps your draft

When a message cannot be sent, for example after the daily limit, the web chat keeps what you typed and tells you why.

  • Vehicle history shows your car's mileage unit

The vehicle overview and the History tab now label mileage in the unit you use for that car, so a km car no longer shows "mi".

  • Saved workshops save without a website or rating

Editing a saved workshop no longer asks for a website or fails on a missing rating; clearing a field now clears it.

  • Every fill-up is reachable in the Fuel tab

The Fuel tab now pages through all your fill-ups instead of stopping at the first 50.

  • Insights "All" covers your whole history

Choosing "All" in Insights now includes every entry since your first one, not just the last two years.

  • Long part names stay readable

On a selected part or service entry, the edit and delete buttons no longer cover a long name; it wraps in full.

  • Vehicle status badge readable on any photo

The status badge on the vehicle header now sits on a dark backing, so it stays readable over light or busy photos.

  • Opening two Rev chats quickly opens the right one

When two links or prompts open Rev chats in quick succession, the last one now opens and loads, instead of a thread that never loads.

  • Up Next stays current after changes elsewhere

Up Next now refreshes when you come back after marking a reminder done from a notification, changing your country, or letting Rev add or change items.

  • Vehicle tabs fit in every language

Long tab names on the vehicle screen, for example in Bulgarian or German, now scroll instead of breaking mid-word, and Turkish capital letters display correctly.

  • Shop reports in your language and currency

Shared service reports and shop pages now appear in your language, and a shop's report shows amounts in the shop's own currency instead of always in euros.

v2.28.0

  • A clearer paywall with no trial

Upgrading is one screen: the annual plan first, the other plans one tap away, and no trial to cancel.

  • Tell Rev what your car is for

Setup asks what each car is for and keeps the answer on the vehicle, and the upgrade offer that follows speaks to it.

  • Read your odometer from a photo at setup

Adding a car now asks for the odometer, can read it from a photo, and plans by date until you add it if you don't know it yet.

  • VIN scanner reads the door-jamb barcode

Point the scanner at the barcode on the door-jamb sticker and it reads the VIN exactly, with no mixed-up letters and digits.

  • Specs fill in when you add a car

A new car gets its engine, transmission and spec sheet filled in from its VIN and our maintenance data, on every plan.

  • Free plan previews your spec sheet

Free shows every open spec in full and counts what's locked, with one bar to unlock the rest.

  • Schedules say when they're US estimates

For cars outside the US, a schedule built from US data is labelled so you know it may differ in your market.

  • Rev can search the web, with sources

Research answers and quick lookups like part numbers, prices and recalls now come from live search and show the pages they came from.

  • Free plan keeps 50 logs and 25 photos

Free now holds 50 service logs, 25 photos and unlimited parts.

  • Odometer rollbacks ask before saving

A reading lower than the last one now shows both numbers and a Save anyway button instead of an error.

  • Import review shows what was actually saved

Reopening a finished import shows its result instead of a dead Import button, and the count is what landed in your history — a re-import of records you already have says zero, not the full list.

  • A zero starting odometer no longer blocks history

Your real service records save even if you entered 0 miles at signup.

  • Rev reads your first real mileage right away

Your first session's summary updates as soon as you correct the odometer instead of keeping the signup value.

  • Rev describes upcoming maintenance in plain words

Garage summaries no longer leak internal status labels like "due_soon".

  • Mac app now uses GarageHub's own typefaces

Headings, numbers and labels on the Mac now render in the same type as on iPhone instead of the system font.

  • Rev answers for your exact car

Rev now takes your engine, gearbox and market into account, and tells you when your last odometer reading is old instead of assuming nothing is due.

  • Rev logs work more reliably

Separate jobs are logged separately, long service histories go through import, and Rev no longer proposes changes your plan can't save.

  • Plan your next jobs during setup

Pick what's next on your car when you add it, and Rev's first answer plans all of it: the order, the parts and tools, and what to check first.

  • Rev saves part specs

Ask Rev to note a part's specs and it saves them on the part. Installing, removing or retiring a part now keeps its install history the same everywhere you do it.

  • Rev can clear a labor estimate

Asking Rev to remove an estimated labor time now clears it instead of failing.

  • Renewal reminders for every billing period

Subscribers now get a heads-up before each renewal, not just the first one.

  • Open tabs survive an app update

A web tab left open across an update reloads once to pick up the new version instead of breaking.

  • Rev remembers what you tell it

Confirm a fact once, like how you use the car or what you prefer, and Rev carries it into every conversation. Review or delete saved facts in Settings on the web.

  • Rev keeps your corrections

Tell Rev "it's a diesel" and it saves that to the car, so the next conversation knows. It also offers to close schedule items that no longer apply, like spark plugs on a diesel.

  • Generated schedules use your units

A car tracked in kilometres now gets its service intervals in kilometres, not miles.

  • Due mileages show the car's own unit

A car tracked in kilometres on an account set to miles now shows kilometres on its own page, not miles.

  • Mileage fields use the car's own unit

Logging a service, adding a reminder or editing an imported record now shows the unit your car is tracked in next to the mileage, not your account's.

  • Signing out keeps your phone's language

The sign-in screens no longer switch to English after you sign out, and a new install on Android starts in your phone's language.

  • Mileage fields show the car's unit

Logging or viewing a service, editing an imported record, a part's install mileage, completing, snoozing or editing a to-do, and a car's purchase mileage now show the unit your car is tracked in, and the due mileage on a card no longer gets cut off on small screens.

  • Long car names and mileages fit on the car page

A two-line car name no longer slides under the stats, and the mileage tile keeps the number and its unit together.

  • Make and model keep what you type

The keyboard no longer autocorrects a car's make or model, so a name like Accord stays Accord.

  • Import cards in chat show the current status

An import you started from Rev now shows whether it is still pending or already saved.

  • More specs, in your units

The spec sheet covers 65 specs, including fluid capacities, torque values, filters and bulbs, and shows each one in metric or imperial to match your settings.

  • You hear about failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, GarageHub tells you, reminds you a week later and confirms once it's fixed; the web app adds a banner with a link to fix it.

  • Tell us why you're leaving

Deleting your account now offers an optional one-tap reason, so we can learn what to fix.

  • Expired sign-ins sign you out cleanly

If your session is revoked or expires, the app signs you out instead of staying on a broken signed-in screen.

  • Currency and weekday names follow the app language

Pickers and calendars use the language you chose in the app, not the phone's.

  • Links inside Learn articles work

Links to other guides in an article now open in the app instead of doing nothing.

  • Chat list previews read as plain text

Previews no longer show stray markdown symbols.

  • Rating request waits for a real win

The review prompt now appears after a couple of successes, like logs or finished jobs, never on your first.

  • Chat handles percent signs and plus signs

Typing % or + into a message or onboarding no longer crashes the app or changes your text.

  • Tell Rev opens a real conversation

Setup's Tell Rev option now starts a normal garage chat like on iPhone and the web.

  • Premium prompts wait until your plan loads

Paying users no longer see Free-plan prompts while the plan is still loading, and a failed load offers Retry.

  • Errors say what went wrong

Android shows the server's message instead of a bare HTTP code.

  • Locked labor field no longer crashes

Tapping a locked labor time on Android hides the keyboard instead of closing the app.

  • Button labels wrap instead of clipping

Long button titles now continue onto a second line.

  • Log limit paywall matches your real count

The paywall appears only when you have actually reached the Free log limit.

  • A pending purchase shows a notice

When the store holds your purchase for approval, the app says so instead of looking stuck.

  • Family members keep Premium everywhere

Members who inherit Premium from a family plan now get it at every limit and lock.

  • Rev can confirm every change it proposes

When Rev suggests several changes in one reply, you can now confirm all of them.

  • One-click unsubscribe on lifecycle emails

The unsubscribe link in GarageHub's onboarding and tip emails now works in one click.

v2.27.0

  • Tracking what a service cost is now free

Every account can record the total cost of a service and the estimated cost of a job. Labor cost and labor time stay part of Premium.
